Global Sourcing & Product Development Manager
Reports to Director of Product Development

Key Objectives
• Source the right factories and items to deliver on and support the sales plan
• Manage sourcing efforts to support business objectives and sales strategy
• Support all channels, as directed by Product development

Key Responsibilities
Vendor Strategy
• Plan, manage and implement a comprehensive sourcing strategy for all product categories, market segments and customers in alignment with the sales strategy
• Implement and drive a vendor strategy in partnership with Production.
• Identify and establish relationships with key factories that can meet necessary criteria for the “good/better/best” price tiers to maximize sales opportunities and protect margin.
• Work with Production to prescreen factories for all customers’ requirements to ensure new factories will meet necessary evaluation and audit requirements.
• Negotiate costs continually to ensure we are cost competitive in all markets
• Counter source costing and sampling with multiple vendor options as needed

Partner with PS Sourcing Team
• Implement and manage sourcing objectives and priorities for the PS Sourcing team.
• Define clear expectations and deliverables with the PS sourcing team on pre-development projects and show sampling.
• Understand and accurately communicate preliminary product testing, factory compliance requirements (in partnership with Production) and target costs to China team and factories to appropriately vet suppliers early on.
• Provide PS sourcing team continuous feedback and insight into the US retail market trends and key market segments.

Product Development and Sourcing
• Help drive assortment building efforts to support product strategy for all channels
• Manage initial costing, mold costs, set up and sample fees, preliminary testing and sampling for new items and all pre-development projects
• Manage sampling, costing and fees for shows in alignment with the product development calendars
• Own library of physical samples and associated grids for identified Item Category bodies with key vendors
• Update and distribute Category Attributes as directed and approved by DPD.
• Source high margin categories, key items, new techniques, new bodies, new vendors – working with the PD team to incorporate into relevant assortments
• Ensure Product Development and Design team understand and have all necessary info regarding production parameters, decorating options and die-lines, requirements, price constraints

General responsibilities
• Travel to PS office, factories and relevant trade shows multiple times a year or as needed in critical situations
• Implement process and communication tools to educate cross functional teams regarding sampling and production constraints for new formats/techniques
• Create and distribute reports to keep cross functional teams informed on key vendor pool and blank inventory

Requirements & qualifications:
 Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
 Work requires travel to current/prospective customers, trade shows, and events or training. This requires a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
 Proven sales background working with retail customers
 Ability to collaborate with, and lead others
 Ability to develop and deliver presentations
